Marine Sanitation: 8-Way Hose Test

Funky hose isn’t the only source of head odors, but it’s a major one. To determine if one brand of hose is better than another, we retained an independent lab to test a collection of black rubber and white PVC hose samples. The findings are clear-cut.


Top to bottom, the three black rubber products:
ûLawrence 104-112 Smooth-Flex Sanitation, Trident
ûPremium 101-1120, and Shields Sanitation; and the
ûfour white PVC hoses, Shields VAC XHD Series 148,
ûLawrence 148-112 PVC Sanitation Hose, Trident VAC
ûXHF Sanitation & Potable Water, SeaLand OdorSafe.

SeaLand Technology of Big Prairie, Ohio, manufactures marine sanitation systems. It’s all they do. Their product lines include heads, polyethylene tanks, tissue paper, hoses and other accessories.
