Globalstar fares better at sea this time, the iPod conks out


Cheaper and more effective than it was our last time out, the Globalstar satellite phone passed our test.

Last summer, we set out again aboard Willow, our 1980 Bristol 40 yawl, for our annual summer voyage. The trip — from Baltimore to the Turks and Caicos Islands via Bermuda, and then back to Baltimore — is a 3,000-mile jaunt that we covered in two months time.
